I’m David Rojas-León, and I’m a Design Believer.

As a design believer and practitioner and a creative leader, I practice Human-Centered Design principles to elevate individuals' and communities' lived experiences to identify the main challenges and ideate interventions for a systemic transformation.

I have been involved in a range of projects incorporating interdisciplinary research skills for human-centered design, systems thinking, service design, and analyses of user interaction/user experience (UI/UX). In addition, I have been a design practitioner producing interventions in digital and print design, data visualization, branding, communication, and strategic design. This skill set has been essential in collaborating with scientists, engineers, health workers, advocates, and a variety of professionals to translate and articulate abstract thought models into product solutions for end-users by utilizing visual design tools for verbal and nonverbal communications.

I was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia. In 2014 I moved to New York City, where I'm still based. Back in Colombia, my first professional job was at Casa Editorial El Tiempo, one of Colombia's largest daily newspaper. In 2010, I began work with the Bogota government for the Housing Authority of Bogotá, and I remained in the public sector working with the Urban Studies Institute at the National University of Colombia as a designer and visual communicator. My experience in New York City includes serving as a Visual Design Fellow for the United Nations Foundation where I worked on the Foundation's Mashable Social Good Summit 2015 and the Earth to Paris Summit 2015. I also co-produced the Priya's Shakti Augmented Reality Art Exhibition. In 2015 I joined Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign, interning for the Digital Team. In 2016 I started at the Global Health Department at Mount Sinai as a Lead Visual Designer, and then being promoted to Senior Experience Designer.

I joined frog design NY in October 2021 as a Senior IXD.
